Expired water

It's a good time to check on your emergency water. Is it still fresh? Check the date, ours did expire. We will recycle the water on plants and the bottles will be recycled as well!

Tostito's scoops

My new obsession! One night dinner was all ready to go and i needed a side dish. My daughter happened to buy some scoops. ........i quickly scooped them up. I sprinkled some next to the salad and Deli chicken. I poured the dressing a lil over the scoops and salad together. My mind suddenly raced with other scoop side dish ideas. Filled with salad confetti, or cheese crumbles, scoops make a great addition to any event. Well, almost :) Apparently im not the only one who thought that way. Check out freethefun.com.

The Earth

I do what i can every day to save the earth. I chase every light, T.V. and fan. I call it my gym. lol Every day i remind my grandchildren, it's their earth i'm trying to save. On a personal level, there is room for improvement. I have my downfalls...the newspaper going in trash for example is just a bad, lazy habit, i am trying to remedy. On a professional level, i am eco friendly and try not to waste any paper or boxes. We also gave up 1 car, which i miss, but tell myself, it's 1 less car on the road. I use to drive an SUV, which i would defend until the end. You know, they would have to pry my dead fingers off the wheel. Now i can't see going back to 1 of those, but a car would be nice to have again 1 day... maybe a hybrid! xx

Nick Names

I have never been a big fan of nick names. I don't mean little pet names for one another. I'm talking about nick names that take over real names. This has been my pet peeve for many, many years. I was probably a tween when i read in Dear Abby someone wanted to call their husband- to- be- BEAVER during their vows! I still remember the line that read..." I just can't look into his eyes and call him Steve"! Of course you can't! Someone ruined his name a long time ago, when they decided to call him Beaver! Wrong, wrong, wrong! If you skip over someone's name, they will wind up losing it. Present day case in point. Miley Cyrus. Should she allowed to change her name to Miley? Or rather, isn't she too young to make that decision? Destiny Hope is a beautiful name, she's just not use to it. Miley is cute for smiley in baby slang, but should that be her legal name? Should Sissy Spacek have won her Oscar as Sissy or her given name of...Mary Elizabeth.....i think that's what it is. After all she is Sissy to me! xx

According to an article in the Daily News, Mouth to Mouth is no longer necessary. If someone is having a heart attack, call 911 and start compressions in the middle of the chest.

Duggar's ice cream cake

THEE most delicious, gooey, heavenly dessert i ever made.The easiest too! LAYER bottom of pan w/ ice cream sandwiches, Squirt Reddi whip over the top, followed by choc and butterscotch syrup over whip cream. Repeat 2nd layer and crumble Butterfingers candy bars over top. Looked absolutely professional, with the candy laying over whip cream. Also, fun to make as you need two hands to open the ice cream sandwiches. I will be making this again! Thanks Duggar's !!

Straw wrappers

Juice- box straw wrappers can be dangerous to pets. My daughter discovered this one morning as our cat was choking. She had to reach down the cat's throat to retrive the plastic wrapper. Needless to say i have been much more careful throwing them away. Thanks MeMe and sorry to Bambi. We live and we learn.
