Jon and Kate minus tattoos?

When the Gosselins were lamenting about their tattoos, i couldnt help wonder if there was a laser treatment show in their future. The lives that that reality show families live, arent really their lives and aren't really real. It's becoming show after show of what sponsorship came through, and that becomes the reality of their lives. I know producers have an input too, as i heard it was a producer who asked Ozzy to ride an ATV. Those two words should never be in the same sentence, Ozzy and ATV! Ozzy was nearly killed, but thankfully recovered. Now its a month long wedding for the Gosselins with all the trimmings provided by everyone. They have come a long way in a few short years and have been truly blessed. I still have nothing but alas have no tups to show off. Their life isnt a piece of cake, but without the fame they would be hating life, like the rest of us. I often wonder if they ever regret going for the spotlight but the truth is, even with 2 professional jobs, eight kids is a huge financial undertaking. Especially six all the same age, where there are no hand me downs. I know Kate wants them to have the best life and i think she means financial, without the fame they would have a lot less. A lot! Would Jon and Kate be going to Hawaii for their Anniversary? Asolutely not! They would be lucky to have pizza in front of the TV like the rest of us, but still truly blessed with their beautiful family. xx

Twin Boys, ouch!

Maybe there is Karma after all. When Denise Richards was asked if she stole her friends' husband? Her response was Heather and i werent friends...BEEP... wrong answer. That was hardly the point. Reminds me of my recent request to get a loan back. Of course they didnt remember the loan, it wasnt their money being sucked out of them. I was completely panicked when my anti- lock brakes were locking up and not stopping. Silly me, at the end of my rope reached out to a relative...his response ...there was no loan...BEEP... wrong answer. The point was the car would not stop. The point was i drive my granddaughter in bumper to bumper traffic, for school. UGGGH! So much for Blonds, relatives and loans! sigh.........................xx

Sympathy...

My deepest sympathy for the Hudson family. As a survivor of domestic abuse, i was shocked to hear it happen to this family. I guess it can happen to any family, im so sorry it happened to them. My prayers and love are with them, today and always. xx

California devastation

Ca took a big and sad hit this month. There was a car full of siblings killed along w/ a baby on the way. We had a Metro link disaster, that took 25 young, productive lives and injured over 100. Then, as if it wasnt enough, we lost four more in the Travis Barker plane crash. As i pray for Travis and DJ AM to recover, i also mourn lil Chris and the others that perished including Travis' bodyguard. God bless one and all xx

Reality Bits

Persistant

Someone called me that the other day. I took it as a compliment but didnt fully realize the impact of that word. Maybe it isnt even the right word, as if my work was optional. At my age with no parents, spouse or siblings , it's all on me to take care of me. No safety net i fly through the air hoping to catch the bar as it's thrown to me. Persistant yes, determined, yes, crazy...probably. I just keep going, i dont look down, i focus on the catch, ... i work without a net. xx

In all reality

I watch or try to follow a lot of reality shows. Since my 1st cap was called "Star of my own reality show", i try to keep up! I wound up loving Denise and her beautiful lil girls. I had my shocking moments as always. As in, when i was in shock. I tend to blame producers for the drama they create or re-create. With Denise, it was the pig moment. She brings in a baby pig to show her dad , as he cooks in the kitchen. The piggy poops on the kitchen floor as Denise holds him. She seems oblivious to the major no-no. I am shocked, ratings go up. I also followed the Jon, Kate and Jodi drama and only hope its hype and the families are fine. I always worry about the kids. Maddie loves baby Benny and its mutual. I love Jodi, she is a great Aunt and Kevin is Kates brother. They have been there from day one. I hope all is well there. I still follow Girls next door, Lil people big world. I watch Pam... i love her interviews from the tub, like Rev Run says his goodbyes from his. I love the hot pink writing perhaps in lip stick. Pam is not a reality show but her own fluffy, sweet take on life! I am enjoying The Dish w/ Danielle Fishel. Its a female version of The Soup! Till next time.......xx

Jon and Kate

I was an instant fan of Jon and Kate Gosselin and their family. When the show started it was Jon and Kate, and then the camera. The camera does love Kate and Kate loves the camera. Somewhere along the way, it became Kate and the camera and there was Jon. Triangles never work, cuz someone is always left out. I think Jon was left out for a while. Now i see things shifting again and Jon is back on with Kate. The new family helper is an interesting new twist, will have to see how that plays out. I am still a fan but have my questions about reality shows all together! Till next time. xx

Barbara and Buster

My daughter saw something in the bushes, running scared in the dark. She stopped her car and found a scared, cute little kitten. Although they were both scared of each other, he came to her. He trusted her and she brought him home. We put him on Craig's list, not an easy decision, but then Barbara called. She only wanted a male tabby and came to see him. She had waited years to add another cat to her family. They were introduced and it was love at first sight. We visited for a few minutes and then it was time to go. As they left, i asked Barbara to call us and let us know how things were going. We thought about him every day and hoped they were happy together. A few weeks later Barbara called and all was well! He already had all his shots, and V.I.P. treatment! :) We exchanged pics on line and were even invited over! I was so thrilled, as it had been years since i was invited anywhere. I looked forward to a life long friend! Suddenly the emails stopped, and we thought of every possible reason. Then the worst news came in. Our sweet, beautiful, earth- angel, Barbara was diagnosed with Non -Hodgkin's Lymphoma! I went into shock! I prayed and prayed everyday. I could not believe it was happening. She had waited so long to be Busters mommy and there were 2 girls and 3 grandchildren along with Buster. I prayed she would be well and live for Buster, but sadly, that was not the case. Our precious earth- angel was given her angel wings.........after all she did for Buster, i know she is in Heaven, looking down and guiding all of us with love. xx

Reality Bits

Having watched many Reality shows, and starting my biz with this very cap. I have to say...................... Mike's passing on Little People Big World was so shocking and un-expected. My heart goes out to all of them. I have been watching Jon8kate and enjoy all the lil ones. I watched The Kardashians Marathon and THS and i find a connection with those who have suffered similiar losses to mine. When i tune into Denise Richards i feel like im watching soft porn with an occasional glimpse of beautiful lil girls. It is complicated! Saw The Girls next door and missed them. It was nice to have a lil girly-girl time. xx xx

I always seem to lose or destroy my make -up brushes. I now use cotton balls and Q-tips. i almost forgot those were available for that purpose..... Disposable and hygenic , a Q-tip makes a great smudge line, for eye liner. :) A lil reminder for everyone! xx

Falling in love....

With books this summer. That is the plan. To read as many books as i can with my 7 yo. We have stacks of books in every room and i will read them to her and with her. Make it a fun experience this summer. I have always loved books, my mom loved books....but we are on the pc all day now. Another form of reading. I love books they are my friends. We will be spending time with friends this summer. xx

Salad summer

This will be the summer of salads for me. Why heat up the house and our bodies, when we can enjoy salad several nights a week? Lettuce plates topped with nuts, fruit and cheese are one kind of salad that can be made many different ways. Seven layered salads made at least 7 different ways. That's 49 layers. :) This is just the beginning of my salad summer! xx

No room at the Inn

I would like to release the following statement. There is no room at the INN. I was recently asked to take in someone for a visit. I no longer do that. I no longer help people, take people in etc. I made that big mistake 7 years ago. I took in someone that i loved. Past tense. I opened my home, heart, and wallet. But it wasnt enough... i was lied to, stolen from, and was slandered, by a liar. I loved this person and thought i knew this person 27 years. I was stabbed in the back and my mother disrespected. I would be crazy to ever take in another person, or try to help another person out. I will continue to help the needy and homeless. I will flip a u-eeeeee in traffic to help a stranger. But i will never take in another person after that horrible, life-changing, experience. I can only learn my lesson from God and have to say sorry... there's no room at the INN!!!

It's a good time to check on your emergency water. Is it still fresh? Check the date, ours did expire. We will recycle the water on plants and the bottles will be recycled as well!

Tostito's scoops

My new obsession! One night dinner was all ready to go and i needed a side dish. My daughter happened to buy some scoops. ........i quickly scooped them up. I sprinkled some next to the salad and Deli chicken. I poured the dressing a lil over the scoops and salad together. My mind suddenly raced with other scoop side dish ideas. Filled with salad confetti, or cheese crumbles, scoops make a great addition to any event. Well, almost :) Apparently im not the only one who thought that way. Check out freethefun.com.

The Earth

I do what i can every day to save the earth. I chase every light, T.V. and fan. I call it my gym. lol Every day i remind my grandchildren, it's their earth i'm trying to save. On a personal level, there is room for improvement. I have my downfalls...the newspaper going in trash for example is just a bad, lazy habit, i am trying to remedy. On a professional level, i am eco friendly and try not to waste any paper or boxes. We also gave up 1 car, which i miss, but tell myself, it's 1 less car on the road. I use to drive an SUV, which i would defend until the end. You know, they would have to pry my dead fingers off the wheel. Now i can't see going back to 1 of those, but a car would be nice to have again 1 day... maybe a hybrid! xx

Earth Day

Nick Names

I have never been a big fan of nick names. I don't mean little pet names for one another. I'm talking about nick names that take over real names. This has been my pet peeve for many, many years. I was probably a tween when i read in Dear Abby someone wanted to call their husband- to- be- BEAVER during their vows! I still remember the line that read..." I just can't look into his eyes and call him Steve"! Of course you can't! Someone ruined his name a long time ago, when they decided to call him Beaver! Wrong, wrong, wrong! If you skip over someone's name, they will wind up losing it. Present day case in point. Miley Cyrus. Should she allowed to change her name to Miley? Or rather, isn't she too young to make that decision? Destiny Hope is a beautiful name, she's just not use to it. Miley is cute for smiley in baby slang, but should that be her legal name? Should Sissy Spacek have won her Oscar as Sissy or her given name of...Mary Elizabeth.....i think that's what it is. After all she is Sissy to me! xx

Duggar's ice cream cake

THEE most delicious, gooey, heavenly dessert i ever made.The easiest too! LAYER bottom of pan w/ ice cream sandwiches, Squirt Reddi whip over the top, followed by choc and butterscotch syrup over whip cream. Repeat 2nd layer and crumble Butterfingers candy bars over top. Looked absolutely professional, with the candy laying over whip cream. Also, fun to make as you need two hands to open the ice cream sandwiches. I will be making this again! Thanks Duggar's !!

Straw wrappers

Juice- box straw wrappers can be dangerous to pets. My daughter discovered this one morning as our cat was choking. She had to reach down the cat's throat to retrive the plastic wrapper. Needless to say i have been much more careful throwing them away. Thanks MeMe and sorry to Bambi. We live and we learn.

Peach dump cake review

YUM!!!!!!!!!!!! sweet and moist. 1 pan, no mess. Everyone loved it! xx

Tasty Tues.

Peach dump cake- ing.-Peach pie filling, 1 box yellow cake mix, 2 eggs, 1/2 c. sour cream. MIX all ing. in ungreased pan with fork. (13x9) blend well, smooth top. Bake at 350 for 40 min.

Motherhood

My lil granddaughter loves it all, and its all hers. Any new thing that comes in...bag, box, shoes...its hers first. Having said that, i was surprised when i saw her play with her mommy's designer purse. I asked my daughter..Did you give Dreama your D&B purse.? NO she quickly wailed...........I only gave her life, everything else she has taken!

Switching to glass

Many moms are switching to glass baby bottles as issues are being raised about use of polycarbonate plastic. sigh... Another reason to breast feed. :0...

DUMP cake- ....Dump ing. in pan! ...ING.-- 1/4c. oil, 1-box yellow cake mix, 2 eggs, 1/2 c. water, 21oz can of pie filling. Blueberry or cherry. Pour oil in bottom of 13x9 pan. Tilt pan to coat. Dump in all ing. except pie filling. Stir till well blended.Spoon pie filling over batter. Bake @350 for 35-45 min. NEXT WEEK Peach Dump cake yummmmmmmm.

Crib Safety

Thousands of children die in their cribs each year. Most deaths could be avoided, by having less bedding in their cribs. Never allow stuffed animals or adult size bedding in with baby.

Sunday/ spa day

On sundays i try to catch up on me. Try to pamper myself, or at the very least, shave my legs. :) This sun. i poured on 2 different lotions and took a nap.

Tasty Tues/recipe

ING.-1lb Ground beef, 1 jar spaghetti sauce, 1 cup mozzerella, 1 cup grated Parmesan, 1 can crescent rolls. DIRECTIONS- Brown beef, drain, stir in sauce. Spread in bottom of 9x13 pan. For the next layer sprinkle 1/2 of each cheese. Layer more sauce, then rest of cheese. Top w/ crescent rolls, pinching seams together. Bake @ 350 for 20-30 min.
